First Steps:
It was the goal to aspire to a collective that would protect the integrity of individual societies, provide a measure of efficiency and could create a method of advocacy not able to be achieved in isolation. Most importantly however, to provide better, more timely service to our populations.
Establish the identity of the SCR Co-op within the region by creating a website, linking each member, and developing a plan for a "single entry" to services and supports.
Conduct joint co-op training sessions to familiarize each society's board and staff with the role, impact and possibilities of the SCRC.
Document the journey of the co-op development to create a template for others interested in social services co-ops.
Develop a technology plan that will allow members to communicate effectively, share systems programs, networks and other communication technology.
Explore and create a plan for economies of scale measures such as joint purchasing and sharing of materials, space, services, vehicles etc.
